What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
My dad, hmmm, my dad.
I can not remember what happened to bring on the piece of advice given to me from my dad, but I was the age of twelve or younger.
I do remember he said to me in a rather annoyed voice… “Who do you think you are. YOU, are no better than them, and they are no better than you.”
Honestly, I had to think on that one for a while, (if I’m not better than them, & they are not better than me,) well who is then? Then my dad would tell me-don’t wonder to far, you’ll get lost, which my mother told me to always look before you leap. Where my dad butted in with, your you’ll be sure to weep & weep.
In any case, I do look before I leap when I think to, and I do know, I am no better than anyone, and anyone is no better than me.
