What’s something you used to believe as a kid that seems ridiculous now?
As children we believe what our elders tell us. Especially if they tell us the same thing every time we ask. This same response convinces most kids, they are learning and believe what they are being told.
In my young case, I asked on a daily basis, “how did you know it was me?” Of course, always being told, “a little birdie told me so.”
Well, I will tell you, I started keeping my eyes on those birds, perched in the trees, outside my hospital window. “Bad old birds.”
So, needless to say, in my eyes and innocent brain, birds were spies. Always watching. Always telling the nurses on me. Always sitting in the trees cawing, probably telling the other birds to come watch me.
Needless to say, after two and a half months and my release from the hospital, learning about birds, I kept clear of them, throwing rocks at them when they came near to me.
Can’t really say my age (9,10 )when I realized birds don’t tell on you. I quit throwing rocks at them and succumb to only shooing them away.
But this does not mean I like birds staring in my windows.
Birdie Birdie in the sky why you do that in my eye I don’t care and I don’t cry I’m just glad that cows can’t fly.

The End.
